The Yosemite Home Stack

The systems, products and utility strategies that make mountain-property ownership more resilient, efficient and independent.

This is not a giant shopping page. Invest Yosemite will recommend fewer things, explain the ownership problem they solve, show the operating-cost or resilience case, and organize them around real property systems. Some recommendations may earn affiliate or commercial revenue, always disclosed.

The High-Value Ownership Categories

Power

Generators, batteries, transfer equipment and outage planning. The buying question is not “what generator is best?” It is “what loads must stay alive, for how long, and who maintains the system?”

Water

Testing, filtration, storage, pressure and well-system support. Recommendations should start with the actual water problem rather than a generic filter ranking.

Internet + Communications

Primary and backup broadband, satellite internet, cellular boosters, dual-network failover, GMRS and push-to-talk radios, satellite messengers and communications for outages, remote work, cameras, gates and guest operations.

Fire + Resilience

Monitoring, defensible-space equipment, water access, backup systems and other tools that support property resilience.

Air + Indoor Environment

Smoke-season filtration, HVAC support, air-quality monitoring and the systems that keep the interior usable when outdoor air is poor.

Security + Remote Monitoring

Cameras, leak sensors, temperature, gates, power-status monitoring and the technology that matters more when the owner is not always there.

STR Operations

Locks, guest access, cleaning systems, noise monitoring where lawful, turnover infrastructure and durable guest-use products.

Outdoor + Property Care

Equipment and systems that reduce recurring work rather than simply decorate the property.

Preparedness

The boring things that become valuable when roads close, power fails, smoke arrives or a system needs service.

Energy Efficiency

Heat pumps, mini-splits, insulation, air sealing, smart controls, water heating and other upgrades evaluated by comfort, payback and utility savings.

Off-Grid + Backup Systems

Solar, batteries, generators, water storage, propane, communications and system redundancy designed around the property’s real loads and failure points.

Land + Property Rights

Easements, access, water and mineral rights, Williamson Act contracts, conservation restrictions and other rights that shape what an owner can do.

What every recommendation should tell you

  • What ownership problem it solves
  • Who actually needs it
  • Who probably does not
  • Approximate cost class
  • Installation or service complexity
  • What it depends on
  • Reasonable alternatives
  • What to verify before buying
  • Whether Invest Yosemite has a commercial relationship

That structure is deliberate. It makes the recommendation useful to a human now and machine-readable enough to become part of agentic commerce later.

How We Choose Recommendations

Some recommendations may use affiliate links or direct commercial partnerships. When compensation exists, it will be disclosed. Compensation does not make a product useful; solving a real ownership problem does.

We prioritize high-value systems where the wrong decision can be expensive, inconvenient or difficult to reverse—not low-ticket products simply because they are easy to link.
